Thanks pastor.
I've actually known Robbie for about 8 years now- we both went to Fork Union, he was there the year before i went.
I've been really encouraged by His conversion and testimony- God has been very kind to him.

Great blog article. Well written and heart felt. I will bet you and Robbie Powell would bless each other. He is an awesome Christian who started four years at Perdue and got drafted but never played in the NFL. Nevertheless he is pursuing his dream and more importantly his first love and passion is Christ. Y'all would encourage each other

Aunt Sue,
You are too kind. :)
Yes, I do believe things happen for a purpose, especially things out of the plans.
And I'm learning, 3 years of transitions and counting!

Jon, it's unfortunate that you had to become so wise so early in life. Most of us don't have this much "stuff" over a whole lifetime, yet you are the one God chose to test in this way. And who else could have handled all this with a smile but you? I believe that when we're tested, it's for some greater purpose down the road, don't you? And by the way, life transitions really can take years rather than weeks or months, while we're growing thru them, so don't lose faith!

Jon, I can relate to your post. Been down those roads myself and have experienced the transforming power of God in my life. His grace is amazing! I try to remember every day that this grace is not there to enable me to serve myself, but to lead me to holiness and a life of service to Christ. Keep on walking with Him, you won't regret it.

I really was blessed reading your thoughts and evaluation of your experiences over the past 3 years. What an awesome experience to walk with the Saviour. I can hardly wait to see all He is going to do in and through your life. Keep on trusting Him.

Jon thanks for sharing this - it is an open transparent journal of faith and very inspiring. I love your quote about the rhythm of life and the mud puddle. also I almost snorted in laughter when I read the line where if you were a lady blogger, you would insert relationship updates and weight fluctuations - Keep the Faith!
