Fat Doesn’t Necessarilly Make You Fat
One of the biggest fad diets (and worst health advice) of the 1990′s was the high carbohydrate, low fat myth. Fats do not necessarily make you fat, and carbohydrates almost always do.
Good fats (such as nuts, seeds, eggs, avocados, and uncooked olive oil) satiate you and tell your body that you are full and can help speed up your metabolism. Cheap carbohydrates (like chips, pop tarts, boxed cereals, sodas, and juices), while low in calories, actually signal you body to store more fat by increasing blood sugar levels which in turn spike your insulin. Not only that, they do not fill you up much making you want to eat more.
So eat more good fats, they will reduce cravings, keep you fuller longer, and help you maintain your weight more long term!
